Ranchera

Although I was born and raised in Texas, ranchera music has played a role in my life by establishing some cherished moments with family and friends. Ranchera is frequently played at festivals, weddings, quinseaneras, or at the comfort of your own home. The music revolves around some common themes like love and the sense of honor for the land they grew up in. It also spawned several styles of music, from the chivalrous mariachi to the corridos, an adventure song. One of many times it can be relaxing to listen after hard day at work and sometimes you want to dance to it. The sounds also bring a sense of nostalgia of venturing through Mexico as a kid even though it was only for a week. Music can be quite energetic to evoke the sense in pride in there work or to woo their special someone in their life.

I'm not sure how much it has influenced me much as person, but I do know it has developed some great relationships with friends. It maybe the strings and the according that manages to grasp my attention and encourages me to dance the night away at parties. Vicente Fernandez has this calm yet vigorous voice in his music that manages to catch my attention and Pedro Infante knows very well about love more than I do. From what I know, music has inspired me to try to discover my roots and have some fun while I'm at it.
